Lynk & Co Cyan Racing unveils 2019 colours for toughest WTCR season ever

2019-03-28

Lynk & Co Cyan Racing has unveiled its colours for the 2019 FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR), a season widely regarded to become the toughest ever – starting next week in Morocco.

"We have huge respect for the challenge of the 2019 FIA WTCR season, it is definitely going to be one of the toughest we have ever taken on," said Christian Dahl, founder and owner of Cyan Racing.

"Our long-term goal is to claim the World title and if we can fight for it already in 2019, we would be incredibly proud, but we have still job to do with our brand new race cars."

The four drivers of the team, Yvan Muller, Thed Björk, Andy Priaulx and Yann Ehrlacher – together sharing eight World Titles – pulled the covers of their Lynk & Co 03 TCR race cars during the official pre-season test in Barcelona, Spain, on March 28-29th.

There is just one week left to the season start in Marrakech, Morocco, on April 6-7th, and the team has been busy preparing throughout the winter months.

"I'm starting my 13th World Championship season this year and I am as motivated as for my first. My goal is as always to win, but with an all-new car, it is impossible to know where we stand against our competitors before the first race," said Yvan Muller, four-time World Champion.

"I'm delighted to be back in the World Championship, and I consider myself a newcomer, albeit an experienced one. I am very happy to drive for Lynk & Co Cyan Racing after a really productive testing programme during the winter. There is no doubt that this season will be really tough, but I am quietly optimistic and can't wait to get going in Morocco next week," said Andy Priaulx, three-time World Champion.

"This is the best part of the year when we go from testing to the first race weekend of the year. There is still plenty of work left to be done with the all-new Lynk & Co 03 TCR, but the feeling from the progress made during the winter is good," said Thed Björk, the 2017 World Champion.

"I've never started a season with a race car that I have been part of developing and to do that this season fills me with confidence. Combine that with having three of the best touring car drivers in the world as team-mates, I can't imagine a better place to be than with Lynk & Co Cyan Racing for the 2019 FIA WTCR season," said Yann Ehrlacher, the 22-year-old talent.
