Volvo P1800 Cyan named Retro Hero of the Year by Top Gear

2020-12-01

The Volvo P1800 Cyan has been named the 2020 "Retro Hero of the Year" by Top Gear.

"Retro is big in the automotive world right now. Singer. Alfaholics. Basically, old new, is the new new. With so much brilliant classic new metal around, our Retro Hero of the Year had to be something a bit special. And it is. It's the Volvo P1800 Cyan."

The Top Gear Awards was broadcast live online because of the pandemic, with a total of 18 cars hosted by the Stig, Jack Rix, Chris Harris, Paddy McGuiness and Freddie Flintoff.

Top Gear has also published a in-depth review of the Volvo P1800 Cyan after Jack Rix had gotten behind the wheel of the car at the Top Gear circuit:

The team has claimed the last three touring car World titles, most recently the 2020 WTCR drivers' and teams' titles with Lynk & Co – and participated in the development of the Polestar performance models of the Volvo S60 and V60 in the years 2013 to 2015, including the concept models Volvo C30 and S60 Polestar Concept Prototype.

Please note that the Volvo P1800 Cyan will be marketed independently by Cyan Racing. Furthermore, it should be noted that there is no collaboration between Cyan Racing and Volvo Cars in relation to this car project, as well as that the trademarks “Volvo” and “P1800” are owned by Volvo Cars.
