Yann Ehrlacher claims FIA TCR World Tour pole on the streets of Marrakech

2024-05-03

Lynk & Co 03 TCR driver Yann Ehrlacher claimed pole position for the first FIA TCR World Tour race on the streets of Marrakech in Morocco.

"It was a good qualifying and really well done by everyone in the team. It was not easy to put this lap together, we really managed to get the maximum out of the car at the right moment. I'm really happy about it and now we will need to focus on the race tomorrow which will be tough," said Yann Ehrlacher.

The Frenchman will be joined on the front row by team-mate Santiago Urrutia who was second fastest.

Ma Qing Hua claimed tenth position in qualifying, meaning that he will start from the reversed grid pole position in Race 2.

Thed Björk meanwhile had a tough qualifying run and will start in eleventh place in both races.

The first race of the weekend starts at 11:30 local time/12:30 CEST.
